During the recent Nintendo presentation, we finally learned SuperGiants’ upcoming title Hades II will release on September 25.
The action roguelike was originally announced in December 2022 and was released on Steam Early Access in May 2024. During the Early Access period, I tried it out on the ROG Ally X, and I had loads of fun playing the little sister to Zagreus, the protagonist of the first game, Melinoë, who aims to defeat her grandfather, Chronos.
Hades II is launching on Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. A PlayStation or Xbox version hasn’t been announced.
I’m incredibly excited to take part in Melinoë’s journey in the underworld and above. When I tried the Early Access, I loved it, the gameplay was smooth, fun, and there were tons of new abilities, enemies to fight, weapons to master and an interesting story. However, parts of the game were uncompleted, some of the gods had placeholder avatars, and Icarus was sketched out. But a fully completed Hades II? Sign me up.
