The latest Superman movie is heading to Crave on Sept. 19, according to the streaming service’s X account.
Written and directed by James Gunn, the film hit theatres on July 11, and stars David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor). According to IMDB’s BoxOfficeMojo, the film has made an estimated US$655 million (about C$902 million), with US$353 million (roughly C$486 million) coming from domestic box offices, while international box offices brought in US$261 million (approximately C$359 million). As Forbes pointed out, Superman is the highest-grossing DC Comics film since the 2022 film The Batman, which grossed US$772 million (roughly C$1.06 billion) worldwide. Forbes also noted that the film broke the US$500 million mark back in August.
According to IMDB, Superman (2025) follows the titular hero as he must reconcile with his alien Kryptonian heritage alongside his upbringing as his alter ego, Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent. He is described as “the embodiment of truth, justice, and the human way,” which the world he lives in views as old-fashioned.
Crave has been adding to its platform recently, scooping up Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune along with the respective back catalogues, and the crime drama miniseries Task starring Mark Ruffalo. Crave has also added a ton of classic films (especially if you have the Starz add-on), which include The Matrix franchise, the Indiana Jones franchise, Christine (1983), Poltergeist, Hairspray, The Godfather Part I and Part II, and Scream 1 through 4.
Superman will also be headed to American streaming services, joining HBO Max the same day as its debut on Crave.
