If I’m not writing about Rogers laying people off, struggling with its network or raising its connection fee, I’m writing about it just straight up raising prices.
Compared to a few weeks ago, the carrier has bumped up all its mobile plans by $5 (after an auto-pay discount). The plans are as follows, but unless you can bundle them in with a bunch of other Rogers products or with a business discount, I’d steer clear. Bell has a one cheaper plan, but it only offers SD video streaming, which to me is a deal breaker.

If you live in an area that only has good Rogers coverage, I’d recommend choosing the carrier’s sub-brand, Fido, instead. You can get a 40GB plan for $50 there. The one caveat is that at Fido for some reason it costs extra to use yout mobile hotspot.
Really, if you can switch to Freedom, which allows you to roam for free on Rogers’ network, that’s probably the best call for most people. The one hold-up here is that you need to live within a native Freedom coverage zone to be eligible for its plans. You can see these areas marked with darker orange on the carrier’s website. But if you are in an eligible area, it’s hard to beat Freedom’s prices with offers like $39/60GB with Canada/U.S./Mexico calling, texting, and data.
