DAVE Wireless finally has online presence

dave-wirelessDAVE Wireless (their name will change at launch) is basically the only new wireless entrant to hold back from giving any real insight into their plans.

What we know so far about DAVE Wireless (Data & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless Inc.) is that they invested $243.1-million for 10 licenses during the Canadian Wireless Spectrum Auction, they also signed a roaming agreement with T-Mobile and will have BlackBerry and Android devices as part of their line-up. In addition, they recently announced an exclusive multi-year contract with Ericsson to design and build their 3G UMTS network in their five most populous markets; Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa.

Today it looks like they are moving in the right direction and have actually placed something on their website (nothing too fancy though). In case you are curious of how they would like customers to see them, they state “We are a group of passionate and competitive individuals, who every day, are driven by the opportunity to launch a great new Canadian company. With a commitment to affordability and honesty we will earn the loyalty of our customers, value for our shareholders and partners, and fulfillment for our employees.”

Sounds very corporate. They also say they will launch in early 2010: “In early 2010, DAVE Wireless will bring simplicity and flexibility to the wireless market; customers will be able to choose easy to understand plans and services and know exactly what they are paying for. And our customers will always be confident that what they are getting is great value and will never be surprised by fees or charges.”

They are starting to also fill positions. On their career site they say “Backed by strongly aligned and deeply experienced equity partners, our all-Canadian management team plans to stir things up with their impressive combination of experience with network builds, new product launches and insight into the Canadian Telecom market”. If you want they are hiring for the following positions: Dealer Account Executive, Digital Marketing Specialist, Fixed Asset Manager, Legal Counsel, Manager, Pricing Strategy, Manager, Retail Sales and Operations Training, Manager, Training and Quality – Customer Care, Retail Marketing Specialist

What’s even more interesting is on the “Become a Dealer” page. They are focusing on Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. These are the ones that will most likely see a DAVE outlet first.

Lot’s of exciting things are happening over the next few months! We will have a great deal of competition between the incumbents and our new wireless carriers.
