Video demo: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 & Windows 6.5

At CTIA today there are many reasons for a Canadian to get excited… I mean there are devices here that we won’t see for several months. One of them being the anticipated Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2. Not only is this a much improved design and comes with slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an 8.1 megapixel camera, a vivid 3.2 inch screen that has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, can hold up to 16GB with a microSD card, 3.5 mm headset jack and comes loaded with Windows 6.5.

Thanks to Mircosoft Product Manager Anand Iyer we got a quick demo of 6.5 on the X2. Some highlights are the new Marketplace app store (250 available apps now), the My Phone feature and the new Start screen. Check it out here:

From what we’ve heard us Canadians will not get the X2 until early 2010. We’ll see Windows 6.5 when the Samsung Omnia 2 launches.
