Rogers Samsung Focus appears, launch imminent

The Windows Phone 7 device that Rogers will be releasing is the Samsung Focus. The specs are impressive as it comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash and can record 720p HD videos, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, 8 GB internal storage and can hold up to 32 with a microSD card, 512 MB RAM, Bluetooth, GPS, full HTML browser, 1500 mAh battery.

All sounds really good and in many ways similar specs to the Android-powered Samsung Captivate. The major differences are the OS and a shift in the hardware design. The Focus feels good in your hand, it’s a slim device that comes in at 24.7 x 64.3 x 9.9 mm and weighs a light 119.4 grams. It’s got rounded edges and the back is also curved with slight edges. Around the device you have your typical buttons and ports (volume rocker, camera, 3.5mm headset jack, power, micro-USB). From a design perspective it’s a really good looking phone… mainly due to the 4-inch Super AMOLED display. Since Microsoft completely revamped their OS it’s still not proven. Over the next few days we’ll review the Focus and get back to you with our feedback. In the meantime… check out some pics after the break
