Case-Mate showed new iPhone 5 case online, quickly pulled

This is good hint that the iPhone 5 is on the way. Case accessory maker Case-Mate went live and put a new case online for the upcoming iPhone 5 – it’s since been pulled, but they called it the “iPhone 5 Barely There Brushed Aluminum Cases” and it retailed for $40 USD and was available in both black and silver.

Case-Mate stated that “The slim profile case adds to the overall aesthetic of the iPhone 5 while creating a feeling of total refinement” and showed all the necessary ports and a space for the camera, also showing the backing which looked to be aluminum – not the Gorilla Glass that was previously rumoured. Overall, if this is a true image of what we can expect, the iPhone 5 looked thinner, possible curved backing and seemed to have a bigger display too.

Since the page was taken down Cae-Mate posted a note on the page saying “The wait is almost over as the next generation iPhone 5 / iPhone 4S will be released in the coming weeks. The new iPhone promises more technology than ever, all in the palm of your hand. The guessing game continues whether Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S.”

As with all the rumours, they do confirm that the next iPhone “will be released in the coming weeks”.
