25 billionth app download from Apple’s App Store was “Where’s My Water? Free”

25 billion app downloads is a big number. Apple announced this milestone was reached on Saturday morning and today they’ve declared that the app that takes home all the press was Disney’s “Where’s My Water? Free”. The winner is Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China and he takes a cool $10,000 iTunes Gift Card.

In a press release this morning Apple reminded us that they have over 550,000 apps to iOS users (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) in 123 countries around the world. Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Internet Software and Services stated that “We’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded. When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users.”
