Update: Microsoft Surface tablet now available, lineups happened in Toronto

The Microsoft Surface tablet is officially available today. Those who pre-ordered should be getting them in their hands, but down at the Toronto Eaton Centre Microsoft pop-up store there was a lineup for the Windows 8 tablet. I’d say about 150 people, but a lineup nonetheless. Microsoft also noted that “The first 100 people in line when doors open receive a year’s Xbox Music Pass, a value of $99.90, with purchase.”

Check out our hands-on here, plus the video of the lineup below.

Update: Looks like those Canadians who pre-ordered the Surface as their seems to be a delay in getting the tablet into their hands. Emails have been sent out giving them a credit for the delays.

“Dear Customer,

Thanks again for pre-ordering your Surface online!

As stated at the time of order, we expect customers in Canada to receive their Surface devices between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30. We apologize for any confusion caused by subsequent emails stating an earlier or later arrival date. To make up for any inconvenience, we would like to offer you a single use coupon for up to CND$50 off your next purchase from the Microsoft online store*.”

(Thanks Chris!)
