Google updates Chrome for Android with Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 support

Google has released an update for the Android version of its Chrome browser, adding support for the upcoming Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 devices.

The company’s official changelog merely states that “this version update includes a number of stability fixes and performance improvements,” but there is more explanation over at Google’s Chrome Releases Blog. The update is for both ARM-and x86-based devices, so it should run on Motorola’s recently-released RAZR i without issue.

The Android software is now based on relatively old code, version 18.0, while the stable desktop channel runs version 22.0; the Dev channels are already at version 24.0. Whether Google will bring the Android and desktop versions of Chrome to code parity in the future is a hot topic among enthusiasts, as many of the latter’s features are not yet available on mobile.

Regardless of the code base, Chrome for Android is one of the fastest and most usable mobile browsers available on both smartphones and tablets.

You can download Chrome for Android from Google Play.
