Google offering price protection for recent 16GB Nexus 7 purchases

Google has done the right thing and is offering a $50 refund to anyone who purchased a Nexus 7 on the Play Store on or after October 14th.

The Nexus 7 32GB was announced on October 25th, bringing the price of the 16GB version down by $50 and pushing the 8GB version out of the market. As a result, Google is graciously offering a $50 refund to anyone who bought the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 for $259. Though the window is brief, it will be a relief for any Canadian who eagerly picked up a Nexus 7 in that 11 day period.

If you qualify for one of these refunds — and remember, it’s only for those who purchased the 16GB version through Google Play — head to the the Play Store support page and request price protection.
