Now that Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is safely released to the public, it’s time to focus our (rumour) attention on the next big version, expected to be called Key Lime Pie and likely to be unveiled in February or March of next year.
There’s no doubt that Googlers are testing Android 5.0 already, and it has shown its face for the first time on popular benchmark site NenaMark. While it’s possible to fake such a listing, we’re going to give the submitter the benefit of the doubt and assume it is real.
The hardware it is being tested on, however, is decidedly this generation, as the device, LT30i, is a variation of the Sony Xperia T clocked at 1.6Ghz. Because Sony is a close partner of Google, and may be readying its own Nexus phone, it’s entirely possible that the hardware manufacturer has been granted early access to Android 5.0 as part of the Android PDK.
Then again, this call all be a manipulated farce to see how many tech sites will report bogus information.
