Google: Jelly Bean is now on 6.7% of Android devices

What a difference a month makes. In November Google listed their new OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, accounted for powering a measly 2.5% of Android devices. Now, a month later, Google’s Android Developers blog has declared a significant increase in the percentage: OS 4.1 and 4.2 Jelly Bean is on 6.7% of Android devices (5.9% for 4.1 and 0.8% for 4.2). This big jump could be all the recent OS updates that several devices have received, but the 0.8% is a good representation of how the newly released Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 sales are going. As for the where the other OS percentages stand, still on top is Gingerbread (OS 2.3) with 50.8%. This dropped from 54.2% last month. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair and FroYo all make a combined 13.4%, while Ice Cream Sandwich is slightly up to 27.5%.
