Samsung is hosting a “premiere” event on June 12th to herald in the new era of AMOLED-powered tablets.
We’ve seen numerous leaks, including photos, of the Super AMOLED Galaxy Tab S duo, expected to launch in 8.4- and 10.5-inch varieties. The devices will sport a similar aesthetic to the dimpled Galaxy S5, but feature vertical and horizontal navigation buttons, respectively. While it’s not clear what the resolution of the tablets will be, they’re expected to share the same densities as the TabPRO series, namely 2560×1600 in a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The event is being held on June 12th in New York City, and will feature the tagline, “Tab Into Color,” hinting that the devices on show will indeed be large rectangles.
