Rogers adds Suretap certification to LG G3

Rogers users can now take advantage of Suretap functionality on the brand new LG G3. The NFC-capable device is the latest in a series of flagships to be certified by Rogers, allowing owners to make secure credit card payments using the CIBC, TD or Scotiabank apps, or through Rogers’ own Suretap Wallet.

The company launched Suretap Wallet in April, and has slowly been adding devices to its repertoire. The app, with a companion secure SIM card that Rogers is offering for free, lets users store a prepaid MasterCard as well as loyalty accounts from various stores like Indigo and Cara Foods’ many brands (Swiss Chalet, Milestones, Harvey’s, etc). The carrier is planning to add credit card storage in the future, but banks have already taken it upon themselves to offer secure, touchless NFC-based payments through their own app.

The LG G3 is available at Rogers, Bell, SaskTel, MTS and Videotron.
