BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 photo shows all black design with no trackpad

In July, we received some initial specs for the newest Blackberry device created in collaboration with Porsche Design. Now, N4BB has the first photo of the P’9983.

From the image above, it’s clear that the P’9983 will look a lot like the Porsche Design P’9981 (the P’9982 had no hardware keyboard). If N4BB’s image is legitimate, we know that the P’9983 is all black, and has ditched the trackpad. It also lacks hardware buttons for the Blackberry menu, answer, end call, and back, most likely because it has a touchscreen as well as a hardware keyboard. According to N4BB, we can expect the P’9983 at around the same time as the the Passport in September.

The Porsche Design phones aren’t cheap (they usually go for about $2,000) but use premium materials, like stainless steel and Italian leather, to justify the high price. Previous rumours regarding the P’9983 point to a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, 3GB of RAM, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, and 64 GB of storage. The device will also likely run on a customized version of Blackberry 10.
