Dropbox updates iOS app uses less data thanks to smarter caching

Dropbox has just released an updated version of its iOS application for iPhone and iPad users that brings a number of new features.  Android users got improved search earlier this month and now Dropbox for iOS is promising search within Word and PowerPoint documents as a result of new, higher fidelity previews.

Dropbox version 3.3 for iOS also brings support for larger animated GIFs, as well as smarter caching, which means it uses less data and storage space. Of course, there’s the usual vague promise of bug fixes with no details on the issues they remedy.
