Now that iOS 8.0.2 has been released to fix the software issues 8.0.1 introduced while trying to fix software issues preventing developers from releasing HealthKit-enabled applications, one of iOS 8’s biggest additions is starting to get some attention.
One of the fist HealthKit releases is FitPort, which is dashboard built to integrate all Health information into one useful view. Much like location permissions, Health forces users to explicitly enable syncing for specific types of health data from third-party apps.
More HealthKit-enabled apps should be arriving in the coming days, and hopefully Apple will create a specific promotional category for them within the iTunes app store. Post a comment if you’ve seen your favourite iOS health and fitness app updated with HealthKit support, and let us know if you’d like to see a roundup of the best apps.
