HTC’s ReCamera shows up in FCC documents with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity

Thanks to leaked images from last week, we already know what HTC’s new camera device looks like, but we still have very little information about the device itself. We’ll probably have to wait until October 8th to get all of the information, but a new leak has shed just a little more light on the device  HTC ReCamera.

SlashGear points to FCC fillings that confirm the device will have Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity. Presumably this is so the device can pair to your smartphone, as previous rumours have suggested it will work with both iOS and Android devices.

Based on what we’ve already heard about this device, it sounds like the HTC ReCamera will pair to your phone via Bluetooth, though it’s not clear if this is just for sharing or if you’ll be able to edit footage on your phone as well. We already know that the ReCamera will be capable of shooting underwater and in slow-motion, can be clipped onto a backpack, and won’t need to be physically attached to your smartphone to work (it seems it’s not a snap-on accessory, but a standalone camera). Beyond that, there’s little else available in the way of information about this periscope-like device.

We’re just seven days away from HTC’s event, so we don’t have much longer to wait. You can check out the teaser video from HTC in the meantime.
