LG announces mid-range G4 Stylus and G4c smartphones

LG will be making the flagship G4 available to Canadians next month, featuring a 5.5-inch QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 3,000mAh battery, and a 16MP camera. As previously reported, June 19th looks like the official release date, with a price of $699.99.

If this is too much for you to handle, perhaps LG’s two new smartphones that were added to its mid-range range lineup — the LG G4 Stylus, and the G4c — will meet your needs.

As for specs, the G4 Stylus has a 5.7-inch HD 720p display, and as the name suggests comes with a Rubberdium stylus for “for easy note taking and drawing.” This isn’t the same Wacom-powered technology that Samsung uses in the Galaxy Note’s  S Pen, but a less precise capacitive stylus.

Inside there is 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 8MP or 13MP camera (depending 3G or LTE model), 5MP front-facing camera, 3,000 mAh battery, and a 1.2GHz Quad-Core (LTE) / 1.4GHz Octa-Core (3G) processor. The colour options are Metallic Silver and Floral White.

The G4c features a 5-inch display, 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, 2,540 mAh battery and will come in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, or Shiny Gold.

While there is no mention of a specific Canadian release, LG notes that “both smartphones will begin shipping to retailers around the world in the next several weeks and throughout the month of May.” In addition, there is no mention of price points for either device.
