Samsung Galaxy S6 shipments topped 10 million units in a month

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge launched in 20 countries on April 10th. Ahead of the release, JK Shin, head of Samsung’s mobile division, stated, “pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge.”

While Shin didn’t give specific numbers, a new report suggests Galaxy S6 shipments have crossed the 10 million unit mark. An unknown “high-ranking Samsung official” told Korean media that “sales of the Galaxy S6 series have already surpassed 10 million.” This number is a combination of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, taking “about one month after their release” to hit that number. Just a reminder that this is shipments to carrier partners and not sales to customers.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge sports a 5.1-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM, Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7 chipset, up to 128GB of storage, and a 16MP camera in the back. The battery in the S6 is 2550mAh while the S6 Edge packs a slightly larger 2600mAh cell.
