BlackBerry Keyboard, Camera, Launcher and Services get new features in massive Priv update barrage

BlackBerry today pushed out several updates to its recently released Android-based smartphone, the Priv. BlackBerry Services, Camera, Launcher and Keyboard have all been updated with stability fixes and new features.

BlackBerry’s DTEK security services now allow all security notifications to be turned on at once and flipped off based on information type, which includes location, microphone, camera and other data related personal information.

WhatsApp notifications are integrated directly into the BlackBerry Hub, and new snooze and unread filters have been added, as well.

BlackBerry’s stock keyboard has been updated with the ability to use its shift key to toggle the number row to show symbols in password fields. Increased cursor movement and sensitivity on the physical keyboard has been added, and emoji predictions are part of this update as well, allowing BlackBerry’s keyboard software to guess what emoji you might want to use next.

In terms of other updates, BlackBerry’s launcher has been updated with minor enhancements and stability fixes, and its camera app now has the ability to shoot 16:9 photos, features faster performance, and has indicators for HDR and low-light scenes.
