HTC One M10 rumoured to feature Snapdragon 820 and MediaTek processor

According to a recent report, HTC will not announce the HTC One M10 at Mobile World Congress (MWC), and will instead opt to hold an independent event to unveil its new flagship smartphone.

This speculation comes from LLabTooFeR, who in the past has been a reliable source of various HTC-related leaks. The One M10 is expected to launch with Android 6.0.1 and the latest version of the company’s Android skin, HTC Sense 8.0.

He notes that the North American and European variants of the M10 will feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 chip, which the company hopes will salvage some of its dashed reputation after the lacklustre Snapdragon 810. In China and SE Asia, the company will, as it has done in the past, use a cheaper, less powerful MediaTek SoC.

Other than this leak, not much is known about the HTC One M10, apart from its internal code name, “Perfume.”

With Mobile World Congress less than a month away, it likely won’t be long before additional information about the phone leaks out. Last year’s HTC One M9 was heavily criticized for being too similar to its predecessor, the HTC One M8, as well as for its lacklustre 20 megapixel camera.

Hopefully the HTC One M10 marks a full revamp for the flagship smartphone.
