Canadians can watch the 2016 Republican National Convention on Twitter tonight

The NFL, Wimbledon, and now the Republican National Convention. Twitter is done with limiting itself to 140 characters and is turning itself into a platform that also hosts large-scale media events.

The 2016 Republican National Convention will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, starting today and running until July 21st. Taking centre stage will be Donald Trump and running mate Indiana Gov. Mike Pence for vice president. Over the next four days, which will most likely be packed with insults at Hillary Clinton and statements about making America great again, Canadians will be able to stream the event live via Twitter.

Similar to the recent coverage of Wimbledon, Twitter users can simply hit this link on desktop or mobile to watch it all unfold live. There are a number of celebrities making an appearance and showing support for Trump, specifically Willie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty,” Scott Baio of “Happy Days,” Antonio Sabato, Jr. of “General Hospital,” Former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and Melania Trump, wife of Donald Trump
