Google Keyboard on Android adds colourful new themes in latest update

Google Keyboard colour theme update

Google has just updated its first-party Android keyboard to add a number of new coloured themes for users to choose from.

Good news for those who like a bit of colour in their life, as the previous two only available options, “material dark” and “material light,” left a lot to be desired in that department — though for there are a number of new black and grey options for good measure as well.

Android users can download the update from the Google Play Store right now.

In the lead up to the official launch of Android Nougat, which is set to come out this fall alongside the company’s new Nexus devices, Google has added a number of significant improvements to Android’s stock keyboard.

In May, the company released one of Google Keyboard’s biggest updates. The update added a one-handed typing mode to the keyboard, as well as the option for users to choose between bordered and borderless keys, among other new features.

More recently, Google added support for the 72 emoji introduced with Unicode 9.0.
