Nissan recently announced that it will be participating  in Quebec’s used electric vehicles pilot project, which will come into effect on April 1st.

As part of this pilot project, Quebec residents will be offered cash incentives to purchase previously owned electric vehicles, as part of an initiative to popularize electric vehicles.

As of April 1st, the all-electric Nissan Leaf is eligible for an $8,000 incentive in Quebec, and a $4,000 incentive on pre-owned Nissan Leaf’s that were not previously registered in Quebec.

“We are thrilled with the Government of Quebec’s changes to its Drive Electric Program. This solidifies the province as a leader in the field of electric mobility – by extending the accessibility and practicality of electric vehicles…These ownership benefits will be experienced by even more customers thanks to the pilot project for used electric vehicles — ultimately helping move electric vehicles toward becoming the preferred source of mobility in Quebec.”

This pilot project is part of a plan by the government of Quebec to increase the number of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the province to 100,000 vehicles by 2020.
