The latest BlackBerry smartphone created by global licensing partner TCL, the KEYone, will be available unlocked for $729 CAD in June.

TCL announced the unlocked device’s availability and price in a press statement, but refrained from offering any further details. Presumably, more information on purchasing the device unlocked will be available on the device’s website at the beginning of the month.

Starting tomorrow, May 31st, the phone is also available in-store or online through Bell, Bell MTS, Rogers, SaskTel and Telus. TCL states that most carriers will offer the phone starting at $199 on a two-year term, though Rogers is currently offering the KEYone on pre-order for $0 down on a two-year term with a Premium+ plan.

The 4.5-inch display-touting device features a ‘Smart Keyboard’ that lets users set up to 52 customizable shortcuts and includes an embedded fingerprint sensor.

Arriving with Android 7.1 Nougat, it also includes an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera and  3,505mAh battery.

“The BlackBerry KEYone is unlike any other smartphone available to consumers today, offering a premium communication experience, ensuring that our customers enjoy the security, long battery life and great functionality that have made BlackBerry mobile devices so iconic,” said Steve Cistulli, president and general manager for TCL’s North American division in a press statement, adding that KEYone’s Canadian launch is an “extremely exciting moment” for TCL.
