This might be a sign that the low-cost brand is coming to the Great White North

In what might simply turn out to be a move based on corporate savviness, American search giant Google has filed an Android One logo trademark in Canada.

Filed on October 23rd, 2017, the trademark document emphasizes that the filing is for “ANDROIDONE LOGO.”

The document also establishes the specific colours and design of the Android One logo.

Android One is Google’s line of low-cost, quasi-entry level Android smartphones, aimed at connecting consumers in developing countries.

While there are a number of low-end smartphones, the Android One brand has been bolstered by the addition of upper-mid-range devices like the Moto X4, the Xiaomi Mi A1 and the HTC U11 Life.
