Nintendo ends Switch 2 Direct with Donkey Kong Bananza

It wasn't the next 3D Mario as some of us expected

Nintendo closed out its Switch 2 Direct with a reveal of a brand-new 3D Donkey Kong called Donkey Kong Bananza.

In the footage, DK, who’s sporting a more cartoony look as seen in Mario Kart World, goes through various miner-themed areas that are almost completely destructible. We also get a tease at classic 2D-style stages.

The game is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025, just over one month after the console itself launches.
