The Canadian comedy series North of North is making a big splash worldwide.
On Netflix’s ‘Global Top 10 Shows’ list for April 7-13, North of North is listed at number 9 with three million views. The series premiered on Netflix on April 10, meaning it reached this milestone in its first four days on the service.
North of North is Netflix’s first Canadian series that was co-produced with CBC, which originally began airing the eight-episode series in January. Created by Inuks Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, North of North follows a young Inuk mother (Iqaluit’s Anna Lambe) who tries to reinvent her life in the small fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove. The series, which was filmed in Iqaluit, has garnered rave reviews since its January premiere.
North of North is one of three Canadian originals that Netflix previewed at a recent 2025 “upfront” event in Toronto, alongside a documentary about the Montreal Expos and the thriller series Wayward from Toronto’s Mae Martin (Feel Good).
