Telus-owned Public Mobile is texting some users a special offer of a $39/80GB plan.
Per a text message I received from Public, the plan includes 80GB of 5G data along with unlimited calling and texting. Further, the plan features Canada-U.S. roaming.
Overall, it’s not a bad offer, especially compared to Public’s in-market plans. For example, the company’s current 80GB option costs $45/mo. However, it also offers Canada, the U.S., and Mexico roaming, making it a bit more attractive for travellers who frequent Mexico.
If you’re with Public Mobile, keep an eye out for a text with this offer (or potentially other deals). You could also check your Public account to see if the offer is loaded there. However, at the time of writing, I wasn’t able to log into Public’s My Account to check (and it seems like I’m not the only one experiencing issues at the moment).
Public’s $39/80GB plan is only available until May 20, so you’ll want to move quickly to take advantage if you get the offer.
For me, I’ll be sticking with my current Public plan. Back in March, the company offered me a $35/75GB Canada/U.S./Mexico plan, and frankly, I’d rather have the Mexico roaming than 5GB more data, especially for a higher monthly cost. (Not that I go to Mexico frequently.)
