Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform. This isn’t one of the company’s flagship processors, but it’s definitely a solid option.
The 7 Gen 4 offers 27 per cent increase in CPU performance, 30 per cent faster GPU rendering, and a 65 per cent improvement to AI performance compared to last year’s 7 Gen 3.
Additionally, the system-on-a-chip (SoC) offers advanced image processing and AI-enhanced experiences built into the platform. The chip can power features like AI-powered auto focus, auto white balance, and auto exposure for photos and videos. It also has its electronic image stabilization for videos.
Additionally, the 7 Gen 4 includes Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Qualcomm’s Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0, which schedules resources for high-intensity scenes and gameplay. It also has the company’s super-resolution for vibrant visuals and Quick Touch for better responsiveness. Further, the 7 Gen 4 sports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 also supports popular large language models (LLMs) for smarter voice assistants, real-time translation, and content creation.
Honor and Vivo will initially adopt the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, with the first devices expected to be announced this month.
