OnePlus has offered more details about its new AI suite, starting with the Plus Key, a new customizable physical button that replaces the Alert Slider.
Some features include recording, summarizing and translating calls and messages within messaging, video and online apps. AI Call Assistant lets users get automatic call summaries or real-time call translation in the OnePlus Dialer app.
Another feature, AI Reframe, lets users capture better pictures by analyzing the scene, identifying the subject, adjusting the composition, and then giving users different framing options for a better shot. Later this summer, OnePlus will also add AI Best Face 2.0, which lets you automatically correct closed eyes in pictures.
OnePlus apps will also now work with Gemini, and you can search for these AI features in a new consolidated tool, which works with natural language queries.
OnePlus’ AI tools seem pretty similar to those available on other Android phones, but like Motorola and Essential, you can activate them with a special key.
The Plus Key and other AI features will first be available on the OnePlus 13T, which is reportedly not coming to North America.
