At Google I/O, I tried out Samsung and Google’s Project Moohan XR headset. While we saw the software, we could not learn about the device’s hardware. Now, the XR headset has officially appeared in the Geekbench database.
According to the benchmarking results, the headset will sport the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, which is specifically designed for high-performance XR applications. Reportedly, the headset sports six high-performance CPU cores and an Adreno 740 GPU. The headset offered a single-core score of 990 and a multi-core score of 2,453, which is relatively low compared to the latest smartphones, but it should be fine for the headset.
Additionally, the headset will sport 16GB of RAM and run Android 14, which is reportedly the base for Android XR. The Snapdragon XR2+ reportedly offers features like low-latency passthrough to see the world around you, super-fast Wi-Fi 7, and more.
I enjoyed Project Moohan during my experience at Google I/O. It was incredibly intuitive and fun, like Tony Stark using a headset to work with J.A.R.V.I.S.
