Public Mobile offered several existing customers a better version of its $15/mo plan, though the plan isn’t available to new customers.
The new plan includes 500MB of 4G data, unlimited Canada-wide talk and text, and 100 international minutes. That doubles the data and increases the speed from the old version of the $15 plan, which included 250MB of 3G data. Moreover, the old plan only had 100 minutes of Canada-wide calling. There was another version of Public’s $15/mo plan that had unlimited talk and text but no data, so the new plan is a combination of the best of both versions.
If you have an older version of the $15/mo plan, you’ll want to upgrade as soon as possible. You can do so through the Public Mobile website or app, going to ‘Change subscription’ and selecting the $15 plan listed there. However, it seems like the new $15/mo plan only appears for customers subscribed to the old plan.

Some customers subscribed to the $19/mo plan reportedly got a different upgrade offer that would increase their $19 plan from 1GB of data to 2GB. Again, the $19/2GB plan is only for existing customers, but unlike the $15/mo plan, new customers can still sign up for the $19/1GB plan.
The main takeaway here is that if you’re with Public Mobile, check your account for potential deals, because you just might get lucky. A few months ago, I got a free $35/75GB upgrade from my existing $35/50GB plan, so you might as well check to see what’s available.
Thanks Les!
