Meta has teamed up with the popular sports performance equipment company Oakley on a new pair of smart glasses.
Intended for athletes and fans alike, the Oakley Meta Hstn (pronounced HOW-stuhn) mixes the signature design of Oakley’s sunglasses and Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses tech. This means that they’ll feature similar hands-free features to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, including an Ultra HD (3K) built-in camera for media capture, music and podcast playback and Meta AI personal assistant that can answer your questions.
Additionally, Meta teased that the Hstn has up to eight hours of battery life during typical use and up to 19 hours on standby. They can also reach 50 percent charging in just 20 minutes, while a charging case that features up to 48 hours of juice is included. It also has an IPX4 water resistance rating.

Some Oakley Meta Hstn glasses also sport Oakley’s signature “Prizm Lens” tech that can enhance your visual experience by fine-tuning the light spectrum and amplify colour while filtering out visual noise.
At launch, the following Hstn models will be available (some of which include Prizm):
- Oakley Meta Hstn Warm Grey with Prizm Ruby Lenses
- Oakley Meta Hstn Black with Prizm Polar Black Lenses
- Oakley Meta Hstn Brown Smoke with Prizm Polar Deep Water Lenses
- Oakley Meta Hstn Black with Transitions Amethyst Lenses
- Oakley Meta Hstn Clear with Transitions Grey Lenses
- Oakley Meta Hstn Black with Clear Lenses

A special limited edition Oakley Meta Hstn that celebrates 50 years of Oakley and sports gold 24K Prizm Polar lenses will be available for pre-order starting July 11 for US$499 (about C$683.74). The rest of the Hstn collection will drop later in the summer for US$399 (about C$547). We’ll update this story once official Canadian pricing has been confirmed. For context, the standard Meta Ray-Bans and their transitions counterpart cost $369 and $459, respectively.
Meta notes that these Hstn glasses are part of a “multi-year partnership” with Oakley parent company EssilorLuxottica.
