Virgin Plus copies Fido with its own 10GB data bonus

Virgin's plans offer slightly better value than Fido's plans

Over the weekend, Virgin Plus seems to have followed Fido’s lead, adding its own 10GB data bonus to wireless plans.

Bell’s flanker brand now offers the following plans:

$40/10GB + 10GB bonus data, unlimited international texting from Canada
$45/40GB + 10GB bonus data, unlimited international texting from Canada
$50/60GB + 10GB bonus data, unlimited international texting from Canada

All Virgin Plus plans include unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, and 4G LTE data with download speeds that reach up to 150Mbps. Virgin Plus now offers a $10 autopay discount while also waiving its $75 service connection fee on online purchases if you bring your own device (BYOD).

These new bonus data plans came just after Fido started offering the same deal. However, the plans from Virgin Plus seem to offer much more value in comparison. It offers unlimited calling to several countries, including China, Bangladesh, India, Mexico, the U.K., and the U.S. Virgin Plus’ plans also offer data hotspot capabilities with no additional charge.
