Leaks have emerged surrounding OnePlus’ latest device, the OnePlus 15, revealing some specs and design styles, especially the new SuperBlack.
According to notable Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the highlights for the device are expected to be the rear camera and body design. The OnePlus 15 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch flat low-injection pressure over-moulding (LIPO) display with equal bezels. Digital Chat Station also notes that the colour, materials, and finish (CMF) will also be of importance, with the body using what is described as “all-new materials.”
Comments underneath the post suggested the phone would use BOE’s X3 display technology, a step up from the X2 used in the OnePlus 13. However, as Android Authority points out, these details aren’t coming from Digital Chat Station directly and are taken as speculation for the time being.
Another Weibo leaker, Smart Pikachu, mentioned that the OnePlus 15 could feature a 1.5K resolution screen and upgraded multi-function buttons, which is most likely referring to the plus button. They also mentioned that the screen quality is “excellent,” noting the difference in the brightness and detail. It is also noted that the new screen improves the power consumption.
In the same Weibo post, Smart Pikachu also mentioned the body of the device, referencing the “black hole-inspired aesthetic.” Android Authority points out that this aesthetic is referenced in a previous leak from Digital Chat Station, which is the new SuperBlack colour option (mentioned previously) which has a very high light absorption rate.
As for what is powering the new device, leaks have suggested that the OnePlus 15 will come with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, a 50-megapixel camera with a large sensor for the primary camera, and a periscope zoom camera. The device will also have a 7,000 mAh battery, although Android Authority reports that the battery size may only be available in China.
