Apple has finally sent out invitations clarifying that its fall iPhone event will be on September 9 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. The subtitle for this one is “Awe Dropping.”
This year, the rumoured star of the show will be the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, but we’re still expecting a standard iPhone 17, plus iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. There is also a big chance we’ll see a major Apple Watch refresh with new SE, Ultra and standard models. Others predict that there will also be a new Apple TV 4K or AirPods Pro. However, I suspect the TV will get a press release launch later this fall and won’t be mentioned at the iPhone keynote.
Other rumours suggest we’ll see an orange version of the iPhone 17 Pro, and it might also be made fully out of aluminum this year to reduce the weight. That said, for anyone wanting a lighter phone, the iPhone Air is set to be a tempting offer. If it has an always-on display, I think I will be a big fan.
The biggest question will be whether the price of the iPhone will go up due to tariffs imposed during the U.S.’s ongoing trade war with many countries around the world. Analysts expect prices to increase, but we might also see a bump in storage to go with it.
