EA has confirmed that its highly anticipated Skate reboot will launch in early access on September 16.
Developed by remote-first Vancouver-based studio Full Circle, Skate (2025) is a free-to-play multiplayer game in which players can explore the fictional sandbox world of San Vansterdam. You’ll be able to skate across four distinct districts with others online while performing all kinds of tricks using the new-and-improved “Flick It” system. The game will also support microtransactions to buy premium cosmetic items using a currency called San Van Bucks.
Skate (2025) will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and EA app).
It’s been a long time coming for Skate (2025). Notably, this will be the first new Skate game since 2010’s Skate 3 from the now-defunct fellow B.C. team EA Black Box. EA formed Full Circle in 2021 to develop the new Skate and has been slowly conducting private tests among fans to build out the game. Following the early access release, Full Circle says it will continue to listen to feedback to work towards an official launch.
