Last year, the Google Pixel 9 Pro smartphones came with a free year of Gemini AI Pro, which costs around $360 per year or $30 per month. But as we approach the one-year mark from the Pixel 9 Pro mark, some may want to cancel their subscription before forking out money to Google.
To cancel your subscription on your phone, open the Play Store and tap on your profile icon. From there, choose the ‘Payments & Subscriptions’ section and choose ‘Subscriptions.’ From there, you should see your active Gemini and the option to cancel it.
You can also cancel it before the end date, and you will still be able to use the service until the end of your subscription date. If you fail to cancel the subscription in time, you won’t be charged for a full year, with users on Reddit reporting that Google just charges for Gemini a month at a time.
Some users may also want to downgrade to 2TB of cloud storage instead of cutting Google altogether. To do this, you need to open your main Google account settings and find the option to change your membership plan. Then, you need to scroll down. Once you get past all the AI plans, there will be a small ‘See more’ button that will reveal the basic cloud storage packages.
