Microsoft is opening up Xbox Cloud Gaming to more people.
Starting today, the game streaming service will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass Core ($11.99/month) or Standard ($16.99/month), following years of exclusivity to the most expensive membership, the $22.99/month Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox Insiders who are subscribed to Game Pass Core or Standard can now test the feature.
As part of this test, Microsoft is also providing access to some PC games for Game Pass Core and Standard subscribers. This can be accessed through the Xbox app on PC or a Windows handheld.
This comes shortly after Microsoft teased “much more affordable” and “more accessible” ways of accessing Xbox Cloud Gaming. Presumably, an official launch of Cloud Gaming to Core and Standard members outside of Insider testing is part of those plans, although Microsoft didn’t specifically mention that in its blog post.
In other news, Microsoft and Asus just confirmed that the Asus ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are releasing in Canada in October 16. We also have hands-on impressions of the devices out of Gamescom in Germany.
