Ford recalling thousands of SUVs over faulty brake hoses

If you own a Ford Edge or a Lincoln MKX, you may need a repair

If you own a Ford SUV, make sure to watch your mail. The automaker has been sending notices to affected drivers who need to bring their vehicle in for repair.

The models with this issue are the 2015-2018 Ford Edge and the 2016 to 2018 Lincoln MKX.

If your car has a problem, it will be hard to tell until it is too late. Some vehicles have a progressive leak in the brake fluid, leading to reduced braking power. If your car also suffers from this issue, you may notice some change in the brake pedal feel.

Ford has launched the recall, and Transport Canada says that over 52,000 vehicles are included. The automaker will contact you with a letter if your car is included in the recall. That said, if you own a model listed above, it’s probably worth contacting your local dealer. You can also enter your VIN into Ford’s recall tool.
