Gmail is introducing a feature to make it easier to track your packages right from your inbox.
According to The Verge, Gmail is introducing a purchases tab (similar to how socials and promotions already exist) where, if you click on it, it will filter out any email besides those relating to online purchases; so no more hunting through your inbox for the shipping confirmation.
This new tab builds on Gmail’s pre-existing package tracking features on mobile, pushing emails linked to packages expected to arrive within a day to the top of the inbox. Gmail also moves order tracking cards to the top of the inbox with a summary of the information about your purchase.
The Verge also pointed out that Gmail will start flagging some timely deals within the previously-mentioned promotions tab, and roll out a new filter which will let users sort emails most relevant. Google stated it will determine the most relevant deals based on brands the user interacts with the most. Google also noted that users can switch back to viewing their most recent emails at any time.
Back in July, Google revealed another update to their tabs, which introduced a manage subscriptions feature. This allows users to unsubscribe from any email subscriptions straight from their inbox, instead of navigating through the company’s website.
