Mobilicity to launch the Android Motorola Spice

It’s been a day filled with news from new entrant Mobilicity. Everything from monthly rate plan changes to a new city launching (Edmonton). Here’s some more news for you. We just received a couple e-mails of 2 new devices coming soon – by the end of year.

The first is the LG Wink. We’ve spoken about the entry level device a couple times. Specs have this with a 2-inch touchscreen (resolution of 240 x 320), 3.5 mm headphone jack, 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio and holds up to 4GB with a microSD and it will be available for $99.99 no-contract.

The other in an Android device. The Motorola Spice will be “Exclusive to Mobilicity in its markets”… this is true as Videotron will also be releasing the Spice in the Quebec market. The e-mail also stated that the Spice will be available in time “for the holidays and new market launches in Edmonton, Vancouver & Ottawa”. Specs for the Spice have it running Android 2.1, a 3-inch touchscreen with slide out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, 3 megapixel camera and weighs in at 145 grams. Videotron will be selling this for $59.95 on a “reduced price” or $279.95 no-contract… but Mobilicity will have this for the no-contract price of $199.99.

More soon!
