Mario Paint has finally landed on Nintendo Switch Online.
The 1992 SNES classic is available through in the Switch Online catalogue on both Switch and Switch 2. For the former console, you’ll need a compatible USB mouse, but on the latter, you can simply use the new Joy-Con 2’s native mouse functionality.
With these controls, you can create all kinds of drawings and even add animation and music. Naturally, these features were ahead of their time in 1992, and it’s remained one of the SNES’s most popular games ever since.
To celebrate Mario Paint‘s Switch Online launch, Nintendo put together a four-minute video to offer a deeper dive into the game. The soundtrack has also been added to the Nintendo Music mobile app.
SNES games are included with the base Switch Online membership, which costs $4.99/month or $24.99/year. The $63.99/year Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, meanwhile, includes everything in the entry-level Switch Online subscription (such as NES, SNES and Game Boy titles), as well as N64, GameCube (Switch 2 only), GBA, Sega Genesis and other bonuses.
